The Higher Path brings together key leaders and healthcare partners to discuss resident care, celebrate successes, and identify opportunities for improvement. This interdisciplinary team includes our Executive Director, Health & Wellness Director, Family Advocate, Montessori Engagement Coordinators, FOX Rehabilitation Therapist, MindCare Nurse Practitioner, and Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. Each member brings a unique perspective and expertise, helping us create a complete picture of each resident's needs, progress, and overall well-being. One of the most meaningful aspects of our meetings is our shared commitment to continuous improvement. At the heart of The Higher Path is a simple but powerful question we continually ask ourselves: How can we make our care even better? Whether it's improving a care plan, increasing engagement opportunities, addressing a health concern, or finding new ways to support families, our team is always looking for ways to elevate the resident experience. In our discussions, we review resident concerns, discuss changes in condition, share observations, and develop strategies to enhance care and quality of life. Today was filled with fun, laughter, and celebration! Our residents had a great time playing Cup Pong with Grace from Fox Therapy. They always enjoy having Grace around, and today she brought along a fun new activity designed to encourage hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and focus. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and enjoying themselves! ???? After everyone had their turn, we continued the celebration with our August Birthday Party! ???????? All residents celebrated all of our wonderful residents who had birthdays this month while enjoying festive decorations, delicious cupcakes, and great conversations with one another. Cycling without age is a local volunteer based group that volunteers every Wednesday from 2-4pm allowing the residents to go on a “bike ride like the good old times”. Cycling Without Age gives our residents a wonderful chance to explore the charming neighborhoods of Bexley, OH, soaking in the fresh breeze, admiring their favorite houses, and marveling at vibrant flowers along the way. Yesterday’s weather was simply ideal—warm, breezy, and full of sunshine—making the outdoor adventure all the more special. Back inside, BINGO remains a beloved activity, sparking laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of excitement as residents vie for Bickford bucks, which they love to spend at the Bickford Boutique. It’s a perfect afternoon of joyful engagement and community spirit!

Yesterday, our residents had an enjoyable and lively time at the Bickford Boutique, a specially curated store set up by our activity directors. This engaging event offers residents the opportunity to interact in a store-like environment, purchase their favorite items using Bickford bucks—earned through winning bingo or performing kind deeds—and enjoy a variety of snacks, necessities, and fun items. The Bickford Boutique, held monthly at the end of each month, fosters a sense of community, joy, and nostalgia by incorporating beloved items that residents may now have less access to. The event was filled with smiles, laughter, and cherished memories, and we eagerly anticipate next month’s boutique for even more fun and connection.

Our dedicated group of early risers thoroughly enjoys their morning routine, beginning with an energizing session of Chair Zumba that promotes movement, laughter, and camaraderie. This lively activity helps to start the day on a positive note, fostering community spirit. Following this, residents engage in reading the “Daily Chronicle,” a thoughtfully curated newspaper featuring both historical and current events. This activity not only stimulates cognitive function but also encourages residents to connect their personal memories and stories with the content, enriching their engagement.
