Our Fourth of July celebration was filled with patriotism, laughter, and wonderful memories! We were honored to have our friends and neighbors from Queenspark join us for a special U.S. Flag Commemoration, reminding us of the meaning behind our nation's flag and the freedoms we celebrate. The fun continued with our annual Bickford Parade, where residents, families, and team members came together to show off their patriotic spirit. We feel so lucky to be surrounded by such a caring community that helps make days like these so meaningful. A special thank you to Troop 1829 for their outstanding Color Guard presentation. Your professionalism and respect for our nation's flag made the ceremony even more memorable, and we truly appreciate you helping us honor Independence Day. Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us and helped make this Fourth of July one to remember. We wish everyone a safe, happy, and patriotic Independence Day!

With dangerously high temperatures in Midlothian, we're taking extra steps to keep our residents safe and comfortable. Staying hydrated, keeping cool indoors, and enjoying activities together are helping us beat the heat while making the most of summer!

Earlier this week we enjoyed a visit from a Petting zoo. Thankfully, it was prior to the high temperatures we are experiencing.

Creativity was on full display as our residents enjoyed making colorful sand art! Layer by layer, they created unique designs while visiting with friends and sharing lots of laughter. Activities like these encourage creativity, fine motor skills, and self-expression while providing a fun way to spend time together. Every masterpiece was as unique as the artist who created it!

Mrs. V spent the day sharing kindness in the sweetest way! After baking a fresh batch of delicious cookies, she enjoyed hand-delivering them throughout the branch to residents and team members. Her thoughtful gesture brought plenty of smiles and reminded us that even the simplest acts of kindness can make someone's day a little brighter.

Happy 73rd Birthday to Mr. F! We had a wonderful time celebrating his special day with smiles, laughter, and plenty of birthday cheer. It was a joy to honor him and make sure he felt extra special. Chef JB and his team treated everyone to a delicious homemade crème brûlée at lunch today! While we may not all be traveling to France together, we certainly enjoyed a little taste of it right here at Bickford. It was the perfect sweet ending to a wonderful meal, and our residents had a great time savoring this classic French dessert. Bravo to Chef JB and the Bread Basket team for another fantastic dining experience!
