Yesterday I spontaneously held a bubble party with our residents, and it was one of those moments that filled my heart with so much warmth. Watching the bubbles rise and dance, reminiscing about family vacations and the simple joys of childhood. The laughter and smiles shared brought back so many beautiful memories, and it was a reminder of how important these moments are for all of us. The pause in our day really help ease the worries and anxiety that come with sundowning. Honestly, I cherish these gatherings just as much as our residents do. They remind me that we all need connection and joy in our lives. We all need a moment in the sunshine to reset ourselves. Every plant they tuck into the earth carries a lifetime of shared gardens, shared seasons, and shared love. Moments like these remind us that the things that matter most don’t have to end with time or age. Here, familiar traditions can continue, and cherished memories can grow right alongside new ones. Today we’d like to extend a special thank you to the incredible Suncrest team, Welcome Home Care and Executive Care for volunteering their time at Bickford to host our Mobile Wash! Their efforts in cleaning and sanitizing assistive devices made a meaningful impact on the health, safety, and comfort of our residents. Beyond the service itself, their kindness, teamwork, and willingness to give back truly stood out. We also had a great time spending a few hours with these great teams-sharing laughs, building connections, and enjoying each other’s company. It’s moments like these that remind us how valuable strong partnerships and a little fun along the way can be. We are so grateful for such a dedicated and compassionate group—what an amazing team!

Today, Suncrest, Welcome Home and Executive Care hosted our “Mobile Wash,” focusing on keeping our residents’ assistive devices clean, safe, and in great condition. Walkers, wheelchairs, and canes were thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, helping to reduce the spread of germs while also ensuring each device remains comfortable and reliable for daily use. This simple but important service supports both infection control and overall resident well-being. We love offering opportunities like this that make a meaningful difference in everyday life. A clean device is a safer device—and today was all about taking that extra step to care for those we serve.
