Sweet Moments at Bickford of Urbandale: Cookie Magic and Cozy Reads This morning at Bickford of Urbandale, we whipped up some sweet fun in the kitchen with a simple but delicious recipe—3-ingredient peanut butter cookies (well, make that 4, thanks to a generous handful of chocolate chips we couldn't resist adding!). The aroma of fresh-baked cookies filled the air, and so did the laughter as our friends mixed, scooped, and taste-tested their creations. One of the highlights of the day came courtesy of our lovely friend Judy, who brought a plate of the warm cookies over to MaryB's neighborhood. There, they made the perfect afternoon treat during Judy's quiet reading time—just another reminder of the joy that comes from sharing something made with love. Three times a week, our walking club comes together to stay active, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company. Today was no exception—even though the skies opened up and poured all day, our determination didn’t budge. Instead of walking outdoors, we turned the halls of our Branch into our very own indoor trail. With our favorite hits from the 1950s echoing through the halls, we danced, sang, and marched our way through the building—smiles wide, hearts full. Along the way, more friends joined in, turning our walk into a joyful parade of laughter and movement. Rain may have changed our route, but it couldn’t stop our fun. With his gentle strumming and heartfelt singing, Bob brought the room alive with praise. His guitar echoed joyfully through the halls as familiar hymns and uplifting songs filled our souls with peace. It didn’t take long before we were all on our feet, clapping, swaying, and singing along—rejoicing together in the love and light of the Lord. Bob’s message was full of hope, reminding us that no matter our age or stage in life, we are never too far from God’s grace. It was a reminder of the strength we find in faith and community.
