Kansas City, MO — Bickford of Bexley’s certified caregiver Tiblets Woldesenbet was recently honored as one of three nominees for 2023 Caregiver of the year at the company’s annual Pearl Ceremony in Kansas City. As part of the annual awards ceremony, Bickford headquarters sent a video crew to capture Bexley’s residents and resident family members talking about the impact she’s had on them, and why she deserves the recognition. Here’s what they had to say. Congratulations, Tiblets! We’re proud to have you on our team.

Barbara Hebeisen: She does not walk. She has a special ingredient she puts in her morning coffee. She bounced into my bedroom at seven in the morning, woke my husband and I up and said, breakfast will be here soon. And she has bounced into my room many, many times. And she bounces, and we all get a morning hug. She is just a fabulous person. I wish we had more like her in the building. You would be very lucky to know her. Very lucky to know her.

Robert Meyer: She genuinely wants to see them happy and comfortable. And in this environment, as we know, happy and comfortable on a particular day, that’s a big thing.

Lee Bach: T is a delight. She is always approachable. She will listen. She’s like a ray of sunshine when she comes into the room. She’s a delight of colors and words and she’s always very cheerful. I look forward to seeing her too because she does brighten my day. Just her cheerful attitude. She goes out of her way to be kind and helpful. So she the fact that she shares her family with me, I think, is really special. It’s sometimes when you’re in a place like this, you kind of miss family. And she makes up for that by sharing hers with me. She means a lot to me because she’s like a light in the darkness. If I’m in a bad mood and I see that smiling face peeking around the door at me, I immediately become more like her. I have noticed that if anybody is in trouble, she will immediately go to that person. She doesn’t hang back and wait for somebody else to do it. Thank you, T. You’re an amazing person. And I am so glad that you are in my life.
