We’re eating well today! Thanks, Erin, for always making these dishes so appetizing. Today was Parmesan crusted fish, baked Mac and cheese and asparagus.

Influenza A (also known as "the flu") infection rates continue to rise in our county and across the state. Influenza is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs. The virus can cause mild to severe illness, and at times lead to death. Locally we are seeing mild to moderate illness lasting 1 to 2 weeks. Flu symptoms usually come on suddenly. Symptoms include: Fever or feeling feverish/chills, cough, sore throat, runny of stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, and fatigue (tiredness). Influenza spreads through respiratory droplets when an individual infected with the virus coughs, sneezes, or talks and the virus enters the mouth or nose of individuals nearby. It is less often spread by touching infected surfaces then coming into contact with an individuals’ mouth, nose, or eyes. A person is most contagious 3-4 days after illness begins. You may be able to infect others 1 day before the onset of symptoms develop and 5-7 days after becoming ill. Prevention tips: Flu vaccines are available for those who can tolerate them. Stay home if you are ill. Stay away from ill individuals. Wash hands or use hand sanitizer frequently. Wear masks if ill. We hope you stay healthy!

We enjoyed a Christmas celebration with the nurses and BFMs this week. We had a great time… so thankful for our team! It’s always special when we can gather together! I so appreciate the excellent care our team provides to our Residents everyday❤️

We recently held our annual Christmas parties for residents, families, and our hardworking caregivers. We had a great night celebrating the holiday and just being together. It would not be a Bickford of Aurora party without delicious food from our Bread Basket! Thank you to William and Erin for having these wonderful Hors d’oeuvres for us (especially after a full day in the kitchen preparing meals). Thank you to everyone who attended and celebrated with us! We’re looking forward to a wonderful 2025 with all of you. Cheers!
