Fun with Fox is where our in house rehab company comes and talks about a different topic each month, this month was communicating more effectively with older adults. They gave us 9 tips to improve communication, we can use these skills at Bickford of Midland and out in our community of Midland. Thank you Fox

Midland Santa House did not disappoint. The ooh's and ah's were heard when the residents glanced at every corner in the house. We all sat on Santa's lap and were asked what was on our Christmas list this year, boy is he going to be busy.

Our once a year concert with the Just Trombones. For the last five years at Christmas time they come and share their talents, interact with a background of the music and a question and answer time in between songs. Our Bickford friend of the family John was grinning ear to ear. Merry Christmas!

#NationalSno-coneday #NationalMapleSyrupday We celebrated two national days today, maple syrup and sno-cones all wrapped into one. None of our residents have had this treat before. We also learned that sno-cones were invented in 1919, and now an average sno-cone cost $3.00.

The additional staff and having (name removed) doing simple crafts and entertainment in the Memory Care Unit has been just wonderful for the residents ( and their loved ones)

Having been rehabbing from knee surgery here for 10 days I have seen how truly devoted all of the staff is to keeping people here safe, comfortable and happy. Truly a very special place full of wonderful people both staff and residents.

The quantity of food has been an issue. Our loved one has special dietary needs and doesn't always get served variety in decent portions of what she is able to eat. They do however do amazing accommodating her weird eating schedule!

As Bickford has filled up the new larger Memory Care Unit, they have added staff and every one of them seems just like the existing staff; caring, compassionate and kind while working in a very difficult and unpredictable situation with the memory care residents.

We recently went through a COVID outbreak and the Bickford Staff handled protocols very professionally. Physical therapy appointments for my Mother are accommodated nicely by staff. Meals are good with attention paid to preferences of the resident. We made a good choice when we chose Bickford.
