What a gas!! Bickford was cruisin’ in style with our Classic Car Show. With beautiful sunshine overhead, we enjoyed an afternoon filled with shiny chrome, cool rides and plenty of great memories. Even our Bickford neighbors driving by couldn’t resist the fun and joined in! The best part? Our own staff and residents had cars on display making the day extra special. This week, we were witness to a very special event. Consumers Energy presented Tarek with a special award. Tarek pulled Bickford of Midland resident Ray out of a burning house. Without this true act of bravery, Ray wouldn’t be with us today. This was the first time that the two got to officially meet and Ray’s family got to say thank you for saving his life. I don’t think there was a dry eye to be found. What a special moment for all of us to get to share in. Our Montessori Engagement Coordinator, Kristin made a detour through Tennessee to see a long time Midland resident Anna Belle. She was shocked to see her friend walk through the door. Kristin brought hugs and gossip from the branch. Anna Belle sent back hugs and warm wishes. Proof positive that at Bickford of Midland, friendships are forever.

If you looked at the weather report this week, you might have wondered why anyone would choose to spend time outside. Between the soaring temperatures and the less than ideal, air quality, Midland hasn’t been showing off. It’s best summer weather. But something funny happened. We barely noticed.
