Today, we celebrated National Blueberry Muffin Day the best way we know how: by baking, laughing, sharing stories, and filling our Branch with the sweet scent of blueberries and togetherness. There’s something incredibly comforting about a blueberry muffin. For many of our residents, it brings back warm memories of family breakfasts, childhood kitchens, and handwritten recipes passed down through generations.

Gardening is a beloved activity here, offering not only therapeutic benefits like reduced stress and improved mood, but also a chance to stay active and engaged. Our Garden Club meets regularly during the warmer months and welcomes all skill levels—from lifelong green thumbs to curious beginners. Now, thanks to their hard work, our courtyard and garden areas are bursting with life

In our community, Volleyball is adapted to suit the needs and comfort levels of our residents. We use a large, soft beach ball (or sometimes a balloon) and arrange chairs in a circle so everyone can participate while seated. There’s no competition or scorekeeping—just fun, gentle movement and the shared goal of keeping the ball in the air.

Today, our community brought a whole new twist to summer fun with a giant inflatable Watermelon Seed Toss game — and it was an instant hit! Residents of all ages joined in the laughter-filled challenge of tossing oversized “seeds” (playful white and black balls) into numbered holes on a colorful watermelon-themed inflatable. The goal? Aim for the highest score by landing your seeds into the right holes — each one labeled with different point values. It was a perfect mix of friendly competition, silly fun, and a little bit of strategy! As residents lined up to take their turns, cheers and lighthearted encouragement filled the air. Some went for the big 50-point hole in the center, while others took a more consistent approach, aiming for the edges and racking up points round after round. Whether the balls bounced in, rolled out, or landed with perfect accuracy, every toss came with a smile (and sometimes a surprise comeback!). Carol was our big winner with 220pts

July 7th brought a delightful celebration to our community as residents gathered to mark National Strawberry Sundae Day in the most delicious way possible—with fresh strawberries, velvety vanilla bean ice cream, and a sweet strawberry glaze that turned every bite into a taste of summer.
