If you’ve ever been to an elementary school field day, you know that feeling: running from station to station, cheering each other on, learning something new, and feeling the excitement in the air. That was the exact vibe today at Bickford of Midland… Except this time, it was our STAFF taking the field! Today was Skills Day and it was nothing short of electric. Our team rotated through different activity stations designed to challenge, engage, and entertain. There was laughter around every corner and just the right amount of competitive spirit. From learning about germs to working under pressure to us survive Kim‘s Escape Room, today was more than just a fun day, it also reminded us of something we take very seriously at Bickford of Midland : we never stop learning. Our residents deserve a team that is confident, capable, and always growing. Days like today allow us to strengthen our skills that in ways that feel joyful and engaging.
When our staff enjoy learning together, it builds teamwork.
When teamwork grows, care grows stronger.
When care is strong, our whole community thrives.
We are so proud of the energy and dedication our staff brings every single day. Today was a wonderful reminder that at Bickford of Midland, we work hard – – but we also have fun while becoming even better at what we do.

Saturday afternoon balloon bop! The residents had a blast playing and BFM Jasmine might need a well-deserved break after chasing a stray balloon every now and again.

Bickford of Midland Montessori in Progress Kathleen had the chance to really get the tables clean, and she didn't miss a single nook or cranny. Her attention to detail and pride in her work truly shine. Providing a sense of purpose, dignity, and normalcy can be incredibly grounding- it's about making our residents feel seen, respected, and human.

Bickford of Midland has a calendar full of activities, but sometimes the best moments are the ones that aren't planned. When Marilyn came looking for a card game, we pulled a group together on the fly- and just like that, a fun afternoon with friends was created #UnplannedFun #BickfordOfMidland #MomentsThatMatter

Today in our Mary B‘s neighborhood, our residents spent the afternoon painting beautiful watercolors during art enrichment. We love incorporating Montessori inspired activities like painting because they encourage independence, self expression, and meaningful engagement. Creating something with your own hands isn’t just fun. It also supports fine motor skills, focus, and boosts confidence. There is something so special about watching our residents relax, explore colors, and proudly share their masterpieces with friends. Art has a way of bringing connection and purpose and even joy. #MontessoriForMemoryCare #BickfordSeniorLiving #MidlandAssistedLiving #Midland #MaryB‘sMoments

Who remembers parachute day in school? That moment your teacher pulled out the giant rainbow parachute, and suddenly the whole gym turned into the coolest place on earth. The laughter, teamwork and excitement of making the parachute pop up like a mushroom. Well, it was everything. Well guess what? It still is! Today, our residents brought that same joyful energy, and it was amazing to see. In Montessori fashion, this simple activity became so much more than just fun. Watching everyone laugh and work together reminded us that play isn’t just for children, it’s for the heart at every age. Some things never lose their magic, and the rainbow parachute is definitely one of them. #MontessoriForMemoryCare #BickfordOfMidland #ParachuteDay #JoyfulAging
