She remained in her room for most of the day and exhibited frequent yelling, appearing anxious and overwhelmed. Caregiver provided 1:1 emotional support at bedside, engaging the resident in calm conversation and learning about her personal history and interests. Resident responded positively to the individualized attention. After rapport was established, caregiver successfully encouraged the resident to leave her room. Resident was observed smiling and appeared more relaxed while engaging outside her room. Outcome: Improved mood and increased social engagement following supportive intervention. Resident showed positive response to personalized connection.
