We celebrated County Fair Day today at Bickford of Lancaster Assisted Living and Memory Care — and it was a full day of fun from start to finish! Our morning kicked off with hilarious balloon “pig” races, which had everyone cheering, laughing, and showing off their competitive side. In the afternoon, we brought out all the fair favorites: cotton candy, popcorn, carnival games, and even a dunk tank featuring our brave BFM Jess! To wrap up the day, we announced fair art judging, where residents showcased their creativity. Congratulations to our winners — Donna, Jean, and Glenna — for their wonderful entries. A lifelong Lancaster, Ohio resident, Charlie spent 44 years working as a drafter for a local company before retirement. He enjoys reading, crossword puzzles, cards, bluegrass music, cheering on the Cincinnati Reds, and once belonged to a euchre club. Charlie also shared his faith as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Since moving to Bickford Senior Living, Charlie has pleasantly surprised everyone by stepping out of his comfort zone and becoming an important part of our bowling activities. While he may not be much of a bowler, he has become an expert pin setter, helping his fellow residents with ease, precision, and a smile. His willingness to jump in and help has brought joy to others and helped him blossom in new ways.
