Newspaper Shuffle: A Competition Everyone Enjoyed
Not only did the residents enjoy this little competition — the staff jumped in with just as much excitement. It’s always a special moment when the team goes the extra mile and joins an activity, and this time was no exception.
We introduced a brand-new game called Newspaper Shuffle. The goal was simple: whoever could get the newspaper under their chair first would win. But once the race began, “simple” quickly turned into hilarious chaos.
Newspapers slid, people leaned, chairs scooted, and the room filled with laughter. The competitiveness came out in full force — in the best way possible. Residents and staff cheered each other on, celebrated every near-win, and cracked up at the close calls.
In the end, it wasn’t just about who won the race. It was about the joy of playing together, sharing big laughs, and creating moments that brought everyone a little closer. A new game, a lot of fun, and definitely something we’ll be doing again!

Ping Pong Toss: Bringing Our A-Game This week, our group took on a brand-new challenge: Ping Pong Toss. And let me tell you — these ladies showed up ready to play! The goal sounded simple enough: get five ping-pong balls into the holes. In reality? Much trickier than any of us expected. Balls bounced everywhere. We missed… a lot. But that didn’t slow us down one bit. Instead, we cheered louder, laughed harder, and encouraged each other through every attempt. Even when the other team made a great shot, we were right there celebrating with them. What made the game truly fun wasn’t just the competition — it was the teamwork, the smiles, and the determination to keep going no matter how many times a ball flew off in the wrong direction. Ping Pong Toss is definitely a keeper, and we can’t wait to play again!

On Monday, we kicked off the week with our very own mini Winter Olympics competition of Bean Bag Toss. The energy was high right from the start — everyone was eager to jump in, compete, and, of course, have a little fun along the way. The races were close, with points shifting back and forth and keeping us all on the edge of our seats. We cheered loudly for every teammate, celebrating the victories and laughing through the near-misses and silly moments. It was the perfect mix of friendly competition and shared excitement. Overall, it was a fantastic way to start the week — full of teamwork, laughter, and a little Olympic spirit. And if the rest of the week is anything like Monday, we’re in for something great!

Yesterday’s activity brought smiles all around as we gathered together for a little parachute fun. What started as a simple game quickly turned into a joyful challenge — seeing how long we could keep the ball bouncing on the parachute without letting it fall. The group worked in perfect rhythm, lifting and lowering the parachute with determination and excitement. It wasn’t long before the room was full of laughter, cheers, and playful shouts as the ball wobbled, bounced, and surprised us at every turn. It may have been a workout for our arms, but the laughter made it all worthwhile. Moments like these remind us how uplifting it can be to come together, move, and simply enjoy the moment. A little teamwork, a lot of energy, and endless fun — a perfect combination for a memorable day.

There’s nothing quite like gathering around a table for a friendly game of Yahtzee. This afternoon was no exception as the ladies settled in with their scorecards, ready for some lighthearted competition. The room quickly filled with laughter and playful chatter as everyone cheered each other on. Each roll of the dice brought a new wave of excitement. A few ladies even let out joyful screams when they landed the coveted Yahtzee, while others clapped and celebrated right along with them. It was more than just a game — it was a moment of connection, fun, and pure joy. The smiles were contagious, the energy uplifting, and the memories unforgettable. Sometimes, the simplest activities bring the greatest happiness.

On Wednesday, we learned a new game using cups. The goal was to line them up and use a fan to blow them off the table. It was challenging at first, but Scott quickly mastered it. After that, we moved on to a game the ladies especially enjoyed. The cup-knockdown challenge was full of laughter. Their faces lit up with joy every time the cups toppled over. When the cups were stacked high, each lady grabbed a ball and took her best shot. They all brought incredible strength and focus, knocking down the towers one by one. Watching their confidence grow and seeing the determination—and the pure joy—when they reached their goal was absolutely priceless.

Nothing brings us more joy than getting our hands dirty while making a dessert or snack. Today, we made sweet and salty chocolate peanut butter pretzel bars. Once we were finished, we talked about our favorite desserts growing up—and the clear winner was none other than the classic chocolate chip cookie.

Noodle ball is one of our all-time favorite games, and we definitely play it with passion. Adding more than one balloon turns it into pure chaos—in the best way! Today was a blast, especially when three balloons popped and startled everyone. So much laughter and excitement!
