Meeting the unmet needs of our residents is one of the most meaningful parts of what we do.
Yesterday, our MEC spent some one-on-one time with Betty, who loves to walk. Betty wanted to get outside and enjoy a stroll, so they took a walk around the block together. The laughter they shared, the conversations they had, and the chance to take in the sights made it a truly special outing.
Sometimes, it's the simple moments that have the greatest impact. Taking the time to honor our residents' individual interests and wishes brings them joy, creates meaningful connections, and reminds us why person-centered care is so important.

There's never a dull moment when it's time for one of our residents' favorite games—Noodle Ball! The laughter, smiles, and friendly determination to be the one to hit the balloon always make for a great time. It's wonderful to see everyone having fun, staying active, and cheering each other on. Moments like these remind us that joy can be found in the simplest activities.

There's nothing quite like walking up to our residents while they're dancing—and even better when they invite you to join in! Our MEC, Mandy, couldn't resist hitting the dance floor with Betty and Mae as they danced to some classic country western music. The smiles, laughter, and joy shared in these moments are what make our community so special. It's amazing how music brings everyone together and creates memories that will last a lifetime. #CountryWestern #DanceLikeNobodyIsWatching #MakingMemories #SeniorLiving #LifeEnrichment

Our 50's Day celebration continued with a trip to the "Soda Shop," where residents enjoyed delicious ice cream sodas while playing a fun game of bingo. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and sweet memories shared throughout the afternoon! Ron and Judy also had a great time posing behind our classic car display, adding the perfect finishing touch to a fantastic day filled with 1950s fun. Thank you to everyone who helped make our Sock Hop celebration such a memorable one! #50sDay #SockHop #MakingMemories #SeniorLiving #LifeIsBetterTogether

Choosing senior living isn’t just about finding care. It’s about finding a place where someone you love can continue to live a meaningful life. At Bickford of Cedar Falls, we believe every day should include connection, purpose, laughter, and the comfort of feeling at home. When you picture the perfect place for someone you love, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Miranda Wagner Family Advocate

We kicked off our 50's Day with a fun Sock Hop exercise session! Our residents had a wonderful time dancing to classic hits from the 1950s while moving every part of their bodies. It was a great way to get active, share smiles, and enjoy a little trip down memory lane. Thank you to everyone who joined in and made the morning so much fun!

There’s just something special about coming together to worship on Sundays. It’s one of our favorite times of the week—a time to gather, worship, grow in faith, and be encouraged by our church family. Grateful for every moment spent in His presence.

There’s nothing like coming together for our weekly bowling game! Today’s competition was one for the books, with residents rolling strike after strike and keeping everyone on the edge of their seats. It all came down to our final two bowlers, Mike and Jim, battling it out for the championship title. After an exciting finish, Jim came away with the win! Congratulations, Jim, on earning this week's champion title! Great job to everyone who participated and made today so much fun. We can’t wait to see what next week brings!
