The residents at Bickford of Aurora LOVED celebrating the upcoming Kentucky Derby at our pre-race day social! Assisted Living and Memory Care residents enjoyed a life sized, dice rolling, horse race game at the “2025 Bickford Derby” today!

Happy May Day from bickford of Aurora. We made May Day baskets today in Assisted Living and Memory Care. Thank you Bonnie and Kim for all your help making it so special.

Although at Bickford of Aurora all of our food is made from scratch, in our bread basket and everything is delicious, it sure is nice to get out once in a while to enjoy some time together at a restaurant of their choice. What a great time sharing stories and enjoying the company.

Our Bread Basket Manager, William, got our taste buds firing on all cylinders with these delicious cranberry and feta pinwheels. Each month Chef William hosts a cooking demonstration to not only connect with our residents up close and personal but to awaken their palates to new flavors. Did you know that cranberries and feta cheese offer a range of health benefits? Cranberries have been linked to urinary tract health as well as potential brain and heart health. Feta cheese is a good source of protein, calcium, and is a probiotic that supports gut health. At Bickford of Aurora the overall health and nutrition of our assisted living and memory care residents is at the forefront of our minds.

I can’t believe April is already coming to an end! We had such a good time socializing and eating cupcakes as we celebrated all of our April birthdays this afternoon. We are looking forward to a fantastic May ahead of us!

At Bickford of Aurora today, I was so fortunate to be the bingo caller for our Assisted Living Residents! So much fun was had and ALOT of Bingo winners! We LOVE playing Bingo! The caregivers played Bingo with the Memory Care Residents after they were outside enjoying the beautiful weather. :)

Who can resist being outside when the weather is as beautiful as it was today? We sure can’t! The residents and team at Bickford of Aurora took full advantage of this great weather and ventured out for a stroll. We have 2 enclosed courtyards for residents to confidently explore their surroundings in a safe and supportive way. One within our assisted living and the other in our memory care. A day filled with sunshine and smiles is a day that will last in the memory banks for years to come.

They say singing can boost one’s self esteem, create a sense of connection, reduce stress and so much more! This week at Bickford of Aurora we joyfully sang familiar tunes, strengthened our vocal muscles and filled the halls with sweet melodies. Our incredible volunteer, Diane, shared her talents by playing the piano for both our assisted living and memory care residents. At Bickford of Aurora we will be celebrating our nurses in the upcoming weeks celebrating Nurses Week May 6th thru the 12th. We have Awesome nurses in both Assisted Living and Memory Care! Our nurses provide the BEST care to our Residents. This is Ashley, she is amazing, caring and always kind! So Happy to have her on our team!! ~ Bonnie
