Your loved one deserves to live the best life possible

Watch your loved one thrive in an environment that feels like home

Navigating the aging journey is difficult.

We understand what’s at stake here: it’s not just someone, it’s your loved one.

Meanwhile, it’s on you to make the difficult decisions.

There's a Higher Path for our seniors

Senior care today is reactive, expensive, and siloed. It’s a sick-care system, not a health-care system (designed to keep seniors healthy). Most of us have accepted this status quo because it feels too big and complex to change. Not us. We’re taking the road less traveled and championing a higher standard of senior care.

Luau Day Brings Island Fun to Our Community Today, our community was transformed into a tropical paradise for our exciting Luau Day celebration! The day kicked off with a fun and energetic volley balloon game that had everyone laughing, moving, and working together. Next, residents tried their hand at the Flamingo Ring Toss. Cheers and smiles filled the room as everyone took turns aiming for the flamingos and celebrating each successful toss. To end the day on a high note, we gathered for a colorful piñata and enjoyed refreshing Luau Punch along with a fun snack mix of “fish and chips” It was the perfect tropical treat to wrap up a wonderful day. We enjoyed watching Gilligan's Island at the end. One of the highlights was watching BFM Carson perform the Hula Dance. Residents loved the performance and showed their appreciation with big smiles and applause. Luau Day was filled with joy, laughter, and island spirit. It was a day our residents will surely remember!

We also enjoyed a nice game of Flamingo Ring Toss, which brought even more fun and friendly competition to Luau Day. Everyone took turns trying to land their rings on the flamingo, cheering each other on with every close try and big win. BFM Grace and De joined in too, making the game even more special. Their energy and laughter added to the excitement, and it was great to see everyone playing together and having such a good time.

Luau Day Fun: Volley Balloon Edition Today was all about island vibes, big smiles, and a whole lot of laughter as we celebrated Luau Day with a game of volley balloon! Instead of a regular volleyball, we used balloons, which made the game even more fun. The balloons floated slowly, giving everyone a chance to jump in, swing their arms, and cheer each other on. Teams worked together to keep the balloons from touching the ground. Some hits were gentle, some were wild, and a few balloons went completely off course—but that just made it funnier. Every missed hit turned into laughter, and every good save got a big cheer. Volley balloon is the perfect game for Luau Day. It was easy to play, safe for everyone, and brought out teamwork, energy, and lots of joy. By the end, we were tired, happy, and still smiling.

Title: Moving Gently, Feeling Stronger Today we enjoyed chair yoga! It wasn’t about being perfect or pushing too hard. It was about listening to our bodies, moving at our own pace, and giving ourselves permission to try. Chair yoga reminded us that movement is for everyone. Whether it was stretching our arms, rolling our shoulders, or gently moving our legs, every motion mattered. Each small movement helped wake up our muscles and reminded us how good it feels to stay active. We laughed, we focused, and we encouraged each other. Some moves felt easy, others felt challenging—but all of them were worth it. By the end, we felt more relaxed, a little stronger, and proud of what we accomplished together. Today showed us that you don’t need fancy equipment or intense workouts to take care of your body. Just a chair, a little effort, and a lot of heart can make a big difference.

This past Thursday Scott was all smiles as he shared slices of cake with everyone, taking time to chat, laugh, and enjoy the moment. It was wonderful to see people coming together, catching up, and celebrating such a special occasion. Moments like these remind us how important community is. A simple slice of cake can bring people together, spark conversations, and create memories that last far longer than the candles on top. Happy Birthday, Scott! Thank you for sharing your special day with us all.

Bingo Day Brings Smiles and Laughter Today we gathered together for one of our favorite activities—Bingo! As always, it was a wonderful time filled with laughter, friendly competition, and lots of smiles. There’s something special about coming together, sharing a few laughs, and cheering each other on with every number called. Bingo isn’t just about winning; it’s about the fun of being together, staying engaged, and enjoying a sense of community. We always have such a great time, and days like today remind us how meaningful these moments are. We look forward to many more fun-filled games and great times together!

Friendly Competition and Lots of Laughter at Cup Knock Down! Today our residents enjoyed an exciting and laughter-filled game of Cup Knock Down, and it quickly turned into a friendly competition everyone loved! Residents took turns throwing balls at stacked cups, aiming to knock down as many as possible. To make things even more fun, we started with a men versus women showdown, followed by women against women and men against men. Cheers, playful banter, and encouragement filled the room as everyone gave it their best shot. For the final challenge, we raised the stakes by building a bigger and taller cup tower. First, the women stepped up to see how many cups they could knock down. Then it was the men’s turn to take on the towering stack. Needless to say, the women knocked down more cups than the men, earning some well-deserved bragging rights and plenty of smiles all around! While the competition was lively, the real victory was the joy, laughter, and camaraderie shared by everyone who participated. Activities like these not only provide physical movement but also encourage social interaction and friendly competition—making them a favorite among our residents. We’re already looking forward to the next game!

I am very thankful for (name removed) care and supervision for my aunt before she passed! Also for (name removed) who showed great compassion and kindness! Other CNAs that met real needs with much care are (name removed) and many others. Thanks to all!

We have been very satisfied with the care and attentiveness service to my mother in law

  • Apr 7, 2025

I would like to start by saying that if I could give individual satisfaction ratings to each staff member, some would definitely receive a 5!  There are some Bickford staff that have a heart for people and care immensely about each person - resident and staff.  There are some that are there for a paycheck and it doesn’t take long to figure out which is which! | I would like to highly commend (name removed).  They have unenviable jobs and put their heart and soul into each day!  So often, they are filling in the slack for someone else who didn’t show up, is sick, or is there but doesn’t feel like working!  They do a wonderful job, each in their role!  I have spent a lot of hours at Bickford in the last few months due to the poor health of my Aunt.  It is easy to evaluate matters, for the most part.  I have also been involved with Bickford for over 5 years and seen many staff come and go through those years.  You have had some excellent nurses who did their job superbly, but were overworked, by all standards. Some of them did not have back up from the director that was in place at that time.   It is not feasible to have one person responsible for so many areas of care and expected to be available at all times.  (name removed) has not asked me to say any of this or encouraged me to do so.  This is my observations and thoughts, and I also see it from a nurse’s perspective, as well as a family member.  I know the attitude of workers is for the most part, poor, these days, but I do see where there are areas that corporate support and back up would be helpful to consistently remind/ train CNA’s/ med techs in their responsibilities and help hold them accountable, rather than let them by with their lack of responsibility.  (name removed) has made wonderful changes at CF Bickford and definitely has given a sense of “working together” and “for the good of our residents and staff” back to this branch.  It was greatly lacking with previous directors that I was f
