Your loved one deserves to live the best life possible

Watch your loved one thrive in an environment that feels like home

Navigating the aging journey is difficult.

We understand what’s at stake here: it’s not just someone, it’s your loved one.

Meanwhile, it’s on you to make the difficult decisions.

There's a Higher Path for our seniors

Senior care today is reactive, expensive, and siloed. It’s a sick-care system, not a health-care system (designed to keep seniors healthy). Most of us have accepted this status quo because it feels too big and complex to change. Not us. We’re taking the road less traveled and championing a higher standard of senior care.

Bowling Day Fun: Congratulations to Our Weekly Champ, Mike! Nothing brings out friendly competition quite like a good game of bowling! Today, our residents showed off their skills and their competitive spirit as they took to the lanes. While we didn’t keep an official score, strikes were the real highlight of the day. The energy was high as the guys went neck-and-neck, each trying to out-do the other with strike after strike. It all came down to an exciting tie-breaker — one final roll to see who would take home the title. The challenge was simple: whoever bowled a strike or knocked down the most pins would be crowned our weekly winner. And the victory goes to… Mike! With an impressive total of four strikes, Mike earned the well-deserved title of this week’s bowling champ. Great job to everyone who played, and a big congratulations to Mike for coming out on top! The enthusiasm was unanimous — the group voted to make bowling a weekly tradition. We can’t wait to see who rises to the top next time!

Yesterday was all about laughter, learning, and a little healthy competition as we tried out a new game: Tic Tac Toe Bean Bag Toss! It turned out to be the perfect mix of strategy and fun, giving everyone a chance to show their competitive side while still keeping the mood light and playful. Everyone jumped in with great energy, but one person truly shined. Mae powered through each round with focus and skill, ultimately claiming the title of ultimate winner!

Today’s game of Table Top Noodle Ball brought so much joy. We laughed, we got booped on the nose by a balloon, and we made the kind of memories that stay with you.

There’s something about music that instantly soothes the soul. We felt it the moment Stro began playing the piano. The room quieted, the atmosphere softened, and every note seemed to wash away the day’s noise. For those few moments, nothing else mattered—just the calm, the melody, and the quiet magic that music always seems to bring.

Hangman Fun With Our Residents Today we spent time playing a lively game of Hangman, and it turned out to be a huge hit with our residents! Everyone got involved, eagerly calling out letters and trying to uncover the hidden phrases. Some rounds were surprisingly quick — we even solved a phrase with only two letters revealed! Other times, we didn’t quite make it before the little stick figure met its fate. But win or lose, the laughter and excitement filled the room. Moments like these remind us how simple games can spark joy, teamwork, and wonderful conversations. We’re already looking forward to our next game day!

Yesterday we enjoyed a lively game of volley balloon, and the room was filled with smiles. Everyone stretched and reached as far as they could to keep the balloon in play and score points for their team. The simple rules made the fun instant — just movement, laughter, and a great shared moment.

A Sweet, Hands-On Afternoon: Making Fruit Pizza Together At our community, we always love getting our hands a little messy—especially when it’s in the name of something delicious. Yesterday was no exception as our residents gathered for a fun and flavorful activity: making fruit pizza. With fresh fruit, creamy topping, and soft cookie crusts at the ready, everyone jumped right in. Laughter filled the room as we sliced, spread, arranged, and—of course—sampled along the way. There’s something special about creating a treat from scratch, and the residents truly enjoyed every step. Along with the sweetness came a bit of fun food history. Many were surprised to learn that fruit pizza gained popularity between the 1940s and 1980s, becoming a nostalgic favorite for potlucks and family gatherings. It was the perfect conversation starter as everyone shared their own memories of classic desserts. By the end of the afternoon, we had a table full of colorful creations—and even fuller smiles. Days like these remind us how meaningful (and tasty!) simple, hands-on activities can be.

Yesterday, residents gathered together in a spirit of calm and community as Pastor Byron led a meaningful Ash Wednesday service. With quiet reflection and shared prayer, everyone joined in marking the beginning of the Lenten season. The service offered a chance to pause, reconnect, and prepare hearts for the weeks ahead. Moments like these remind us how powerful it can be when a community comes together in faith and unity.

The staff had been a great partner with hospice and keeping me informed of changing concerns.

We have been very satisfied with the care and attentiveness service to my mother in law

I would like to start by saying that if I could give individual satisfaction ratings to each staff member, some would definitely receive a 5!  There are some Bickford staff that have a heart for people and care immensely about each person - resident and staff.  There are some that are there for a paycheck and it doesn’t take long to figure out which is which! | I would like to highly commend (name removed).  They have unenviable jobs and put their heart and soul into each day!  So often, they are filling in the slack for someone else who didn’t show up, is sick, or is there but doesn’t feel like working!  They do a wonderful job, each in their role!  I have spent a lot of hours at Bickford in the last few months due to the poor health of my Aunt.  It is easy to evaluate matters, for the most part.  I have also been involved with Bickford for over 5 years and seen many staff come and go through those years.  You have had some excellent nurses who did their job superbly, but were overworked, by all standards. Some of them did not have back up from the director that was in place at that time.   It is not feasible to have one person responsible for so many areas of care and expected to be available at all times.  (name removed) has not asked me to say any of this or encouraged me to do so.  This is my observations and thoughts, and I also see it from a nurse’s perspective, as well as a family member.  I know the attitude of workers is for the most part, poor, these days, but I do see where there are areas that corporate support and back up would be helpful to consistently remind/ train CNA’s/ med techs in their responsibilities and help hold them accountable, rather than let them by with their lack of responsibility.  (name removed) has made wonderful changes at CF Bickford and definitely has given a sense of “working together” and “for the good of our residents and staff” back to this branch.  It was greatly lacking with previous directors that I was f
