Why Hydration Matters More with Age
Water plays a vital role in nearly every bodily function, including regulating body temperature, supporting digestion, maintaining kidney function, and promoting overall cellular health.
However, as individuals age, natural physiological changes make it more difficult to maintain proper fluid balance.
Older adults often have:
A reduced sense of thirst, meaning they may not feel the need to drink even when their body needs fluids.
Lower levels of body water, making them more susceptible to dehydration.
Declining kidney function, which affects the body’s ability to conserve water
Medication-related fluid loss, especially from diuretics and other common prescriptions
Additionally, mobility limitations or cognitive changes may make it harder for some seniors to access fluids independently.

Stepping Strong: A Guide to Foot Care for Older Adults Haleigh Mann, NP with Preferred Podiatry Group will be in house on 5/21/26 at 9am seeing resident's that have filled out the consent for treatment. As we age, maintaining overall health often focuses on heart health, nutrition, and mobility—but one critical area is frequently overlooked: our feet. Healthy feet are essential for independence, balance, and quality of life. For older adults, proper foot care is not just about comfort—it’s about preventing serious complications and staying active.

This afternoon was filled with music, connection, and joy! We welcomed Prad the piano performer and vocalist. He filled the room with beautiful melodies, and it was such a joy to see our residents relaxing, smiling, and soaking it all in. Moments like these remind us how powerful music can be!
