This afternoon we brought the fun of Bickford Bingo to our friends at Cardinal Rehab! Our newest resident, Marian, was quick to volunteer to help call the numbers. Since Marian loves bingo just as much as she loves helping, we took turns so she could still enjoy playing the game too. Marian shared that she used to be a teacher and said with a smile, “I used to call bingo all the time for the kids.” It was wonderful to see her step right in and share her talents. Bickford of Suffolk is turning into a vibrant little art community! Our coloring station has quickly become a favorite spot, and creativity is spreading throughout the branch. Lots of projects are underway at Bickford of Suffolk! Today our resident librarian, Grace, took the lead in helping alphabetize the books in our library to create a better experience for everyone who loves to read. Together we came up with a simple system—placing tags inside the front of each book so residents can write their name and remember which books they’ve already read. What started as Grace’s project quickly turned into a building-wide effort! Other residents jumped in to help place tags in the books and get everything organized. It was wonderful to see everyone working together with such purpose and teamwork. At Bickford, moments like these show how everyone has something meaningful to contribute.
