Garden Prep Day at Bickford of Rocky River Today we celebrated National Plant a Flower Day by kicking off our spring garden preparations. Residents in both Assisted Living and our Mary B Neighborhood gathered together to choose the flower seeds they’ll be planting and the vegetables they hope to grow once the weather warms up. Everyone wrote down their selections so we can track each plant’s progress from seed to sprout — a simple step that made the activity feel even more personal and meaningful. One of the highlights of the day was watching how excited our residents were to get their hands in the soil. Many happily dug in with their bare hands, spreading the dirt and preparing their pots with genuine enthusiasm. The energy in the room made it clear: our gardeners can’t wait for warmer days and the chance to plant the seeds they carefully selected today. Bingo is taken very seriously here at Bickford of Rocky River. After a fun game today, one of my ladies took it upon herself to help with cleanup—gathering everyone’s things and neatly organizing everything back into our bingo bin. Another one of my ladies, who isn’t a big fan of actually playing bingo but loves sitting with us, spent the time sorting our Bickford Bucks by color. She joked that they looked “too messy” and happily took on the task. With a proud heritage and a vibrant future, the group promotes classical music, inspires excellence, and helps build both artists and audiences. Nearly 40 young performers shared their incredible skills with us today, from beautiful vocals to impressive piano and violin performances.
