A Warm Welcome at Bickford of Gurnee Today, we had the pleasure of giving a wonderful tour to a new family- and what a better way to share the heart of Bickford than over a delicious lunch and a fun activity! Here at Bickford of Gurnee our residents and staff start our Friday morning movin’ and groovin’ together in our chair Zumba group exercise class to help keep everyone on the HigherPath! One of the many benefits of Physical activity is that improves physical function, making it easier to perform tasks of daily living — including getting into or out of a bed or chair . This increased functional ability can help maintain independence and support independent living for older adults

Wow! Look at those smiles from our residents in our Mary B’s memory care Did you know?… Ice cream often provides emotional comfort and nostalgia for many, including those with dementia. The sweet treat reminds them of happier times, bringing a sense of familiarity and joy. In dementia care, this emotional connection can be particularly poignant. When patients indulge in ice cream, they often display noticeable improvements in mood and engagement.

Our Buzz Cuts and Behives Salon was in full swing this week, and our dapper gentlemen are looking fresh after their trims!
