As always, our community has been bustling with diverse activities every single day. Through encouragement and engagement, both Assisted Living and Memory Care residents have been forming friendships and lending a helping hand. Our Welcoming Committee warmly welcomed new resident with her friendly pet dog, Cody. Meanwhile, our Gardening Committee started beautifying our courtyard through planting initiatives, creating an attractive ambiance for all. Additionally, one of our community's most popular activities is our monthly themed family bingo night, where residents, families, and friends gather to play, adorned in their finest Derby hats. Participants are eager to win prizes, including special prize, and enjoy treats and refreshments. Bickford Senior Living: Our community had a productive day as summer approaches, marked by a trishaw ride event through the Cycling Without Age program. This initiative, supported by volunteers, allows seniors and individuals with disabilities to enjoy cycling. Residents from AL, MB and families took part in the ride, savoring the scenery and fresh air while enjoying each other's company. Notably, the event brought together friends who hadn't seen each other in five years, highlighting the community's interconnectedness. While awaiting their turns, residents and families socialized and appreciated the pleasant weather. Both AL and MB particularly enjoyed the sucker and soap challenges, followed by the cup memory game and grab a cup challenge. Monday is a vibrant day in our community, marked by enthusiasm and engagement. Following the morning routine of exercises and a physical game, residents from both MB and AL programs actively participated in a parachute ball toss, fostering an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie as they attempted to prevent the ball from touching the ground. The event was delightful for families and BFM members, who enjoyed observing the residents' infectious laughter. In the afternoon, AL residents took part in a game of bingo, with one resident volunteering to call numbers, while MB residents engaged in a collaborative cookie-baking activity alongside AL residents' activity leaders and spouses of two residents. During the baking process, meaningful conversations and sharing of baking tips ensued. While waiting for the cookies to bake, participants engaged in a challenging memory game, ultimately celebrating their successful completion. We hosted our own rendition of Cinco de Mayo, attempting to break open a piñata, but our residents were largely unsuccessful. Fortunately, the BFM intervened and successfully broke it open, resulting in a shower of candies that captivated the residents as they picked them up.
