I continue to be happy with all the RNs CNAs at Bickford and the rest of the staff as well. And the activities are really good I joined my parents for some live music in the main room and it was great to see the residents enjoying themselves if my mom could have she would have gotten up and danced!

Overall, I am very satisfied with the care my mom receives at Bickford. I feel confident that she is safe, well cared for, and that her physical and personal care needs are being met. The staff who care for her do a very good job, and I have no complaints in that area. Where I am disappointed is in the social and activity side of her experience. For the amount families are paying for assisted living, I expected much more emphasis on quality of life, not simply quality of care. There are no field trips or outings, very little outside entertainment is brought into the facility, and many of the activities offered feel juvenile rather than appropriate and engaging for older adults. These residents are adults with a lifetime of experiences, interests, and abilities. Even those with memory impairment can benefit tremendously from music, entertainment, outings, social events, and activities that feel meaningful and age-appropriate. I would like to see Bickford put considerably more effort and resources into this part of resident life. Trips to a restaurant, a scenic drive, shopping, local events, museums, holiday outings, or even simply going out for ice cream would provide residents with a change of scenery and something to look forward to. Bringing in musicians, performers, speakers, therapy animals, or other community groups on a regular basis would also make a significant difference. Good care is extremely important, and I appreciate that my mom receives it at Bickford. But assisted living should be about more than being safe, fed, and cared for. These are still people’s l

The staff at Bickford has really made an effort to make things brighter and enjoying. We have wonderful activities that my mom has started engaging in! She has even started art classes and has a wall of her paintings. Thank you to everyone who helps my mom live her best life!! ????????????????????

The month of July was a very busy month for me and my family. But, the staff was aware of the situation and stepped up to the challenge and gave mom the love and care that she deserved every single day. For this we are truly grateful. I do not want to name each individual for fear of missing someone but you know who you are. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I do have some concerns: 1) hydration is to occur in the afternoon. But, many times water is placed in a styrofoam cup with a straw. Mom does not care for water and many times the cup is just placed on her table and she is unable to understand what to do with it and unable to give herself a drink. I have discussed this several times in the past but it continues to happen. 2) the table that mom sits at usually does not have utensils. I have to ask for them Or go get them myself. The other 2 women that sit at the table do Not know to ask for them. 3) the carpet in the hallway by nurses station and down the hall is dirty and has multiple stains on it. It is embarrassing to see the way it is. Someone needs to shampoo the carpet. 4) garbage bags with soiled diapers and other items are left in the hallway outside of (name removed) room. Many times I go throw them away. 5) the dining room floors need to be swept and cleaned after each meal. Many times floors are sticky and food is on them.

I'm fairly satisfied with her care so far. She seems content with her environment and the people around her.

Very happy our mom is there! Only feedback is wish staff could help with her TV and turning something on for her to watch a bit more. She is very happy there! Loves all the activities and the staff is so loving with her. Thank you so much!!
