A walk outside brings fresh air, movement, and joy, helping our residents stay strong, engaged, and living well.
As seniors age, many experience what we call the lower path, where health setbacks lead to a gradual decline in independence and quality of life.
At Bickford, we focus on the Higher Path.
A path where movement is encouraged, independence is supported, and each day is filled with purpose.
Walks like these help build strength, boost mood, and bring joy all while helping our residents stay at their highest level of function possible.
Because it’s not just about care…
it’s about helping our residents live happier, healthier, longer.

We had such a beautiful time today enjoying harp and piano music by a very talented young lady preparing for her high school senior recital. It truly felt like a win-win for everyone, she was able to share her gift, and our residents were blessed by such peaceful, uplifting music. The harp holds a very special place here at Bickford. Our founder, Mary Bickford, was a harpist in the Kansas City Orchestra, so hearing those gentle, familiar sounds brings such meaning and connection to our home. A very special thank you to Gabi for sharing her incredible talent with us. You made today truly special, and we are so grateful you chose to spend it with us. #assistedliving #harpmusic #SeniorLiving #bickfordofgi

Every step matters. Not just where they’re going… but how they get there. With a steady hand to hold, gentle encouragement, and someone right beside them, our residents are never walking alone. This is what care looks like. #HigherPath #WalkingTogether #CompassionInCare #BickfordFamily #assistedliving #SeniorLiving

All aboard Bickford Cruise Lines! Our residents spent the day cruising the open seas! From checking in at our cruise terminal and receiving boarding passes, to beach volleyball on the deck, bingo on the deck, tropical mocktails during Captain’s Cocktail Hour, dancing, laughter, and ending the day with a beautiful sunset on the deck… this voyage was full of adventure and unforgettable memories. We may not have left the building, but we definitely escaped to vacation mode for the day,and our residents were the true VIP passengers. Until our next voyage… smooth sailing ahead! #CruiseTheOpenSeas #assistedliving #bickfordofgi #MakingMemories #LifeAtBickford #SeniorLivingFun #CreatingJoyEveryDay

We spent Earth Day planting more than seeds, we planted memories for the future. Our residents enjoyed a beautiful day filled with purpose and joy as they created an Earth Day Time Capsule filled with favorite memories, words of wisdom, photos, and special keepsakes to be opened next year. We also enjoyed an outing to a local plant shop The Vintage Leaf Boutique, where residents picked out an air-purifying plant for our home, helped care for our growing seeds, and spent time watering and nurturing new life. From sharing stories to getting our hands a little dirty, today reminded us that growth happens in so many beautiful ways. Today’s memories truly became tomorrow’s treasures. #EarthDay #SeniorLivingActivities #PlantingMemories #BickfordFamily #MakingMemories #AssistedLiving #SeniorLiving #bickfordofgi

A day well spent at the horse races We sipped our drinks, ran into some amazing friends, placed a few bets (and even won a little), and just soaked in all the fun. There’s something so special about days like this…simple, joyful, and full of laughter. Topped it all off with dinner from our local Runza (because you just can’t go wrong with that ). We truly love getting out and enjoying life to the fullest, these are the moments that make the best memories. #LiveLifeFully #SimpleJoys #GoodTimes #assistedliving #seniorliving #bickfordofgi

What a fun and meaningful morning here at Bickford! We had the pleasure of welcoming a group of local Central Catholic high school students for their community service day, and they truly made an impact. From giving wheelchairs and walkers a good wash and shine, to wiping down chairs and lending a helping hand wherever needed, they jumped right in with such kind and willing hearts. But the best part? The smiles and laughter they shared with our residents. Playing games, chatting, and simply spending time together made this morning extra special for everyone. These are the moments we cherish, when generations come together and create joy in the simplest ways. Thank you for your time, your energy, and your kindness. You made our day brighter! #BickfordFamily #CommunityMatters #ServingWithHeart #MomentsThatMatter #GenerationsTogether #assistedliving #seniorliving #bickfordofgi
