Happy Nurses Day 2026 to our incredible Amanda
“Nursing is love made visible.” — Unknown
And that love is seen in every comforting word, every gentle touch, every late hour, and every moment Amanda spends caring for our residents like family. In assisted living, nursing is so much more than a profession — it’s building trust, offering dignity, easing fears, and bringing light into someone’s day when they need it most.
Amanda, your compassion leaves a lasting impact on everyone around you. The kindness you show, the patience you carry, and the genuine love you give do not go unnoticed. Our residents are safer, happier, and more cared for because of you.
Today we celebrate not only the amazing nurse you are, but the beautiful heart behind the scrubs. Thank you for making love visible every single day.

It has been a busy week, but we wanted to take a moment to thank our local high school students from the Indra House, for spending time with us throughout this school year. From helping clean, to playing games, laughing, and making special memories with our residents, they truly brought so much joy to our branch. Their kindness, energy, and willingness to serve meant more than they know. We hope each of you has an amazing summer filled with fun and new adventures! We already can’t wait to welcome you back next school year. Thank you for making such a difference in the lives of our residents. Enjoy your summer!

Animals remind us that true connection is felt, not forced. When residents care for a fur baby, purpose grows, hearts soften, and they thrive. Staff sharing their pets—or even bringing an animal in to visit—adds even more joy and connection. At Bickford, we’re honored to support both residents and their fur babies while nurturing these special bonds every day! #higherpath #bickfordofgi #loveforanimals #purelove #alf unconditionallove

Today’s lunch bunch outing to Pizza Ranch, was filled with good food, laughter, and sweet memories, and even sweeter company. There’s something special about getting out together, sharing stories around the table and enjoying the simple moments that make life meaningful. Our residents had a wonderful time enjoying lunch conversation and making new memories together. #LunchBunch #AssistedLiving #CommunityAndConnection #AssistedLiving #bickfordofgi

A little glimpse of things we like to do throughout the week: Noodle ball exercises, Movie and Popcorn, Bickford Bakers, and outdoor relaxing. Sometimes it’s just the everyday activities that make the best memories. #assistedliving #bickfordofgi #seniorliving

We enjoyed a fun Turtle Race today, and it was such a unique and exciting time for everyone! The room was filled with laughter, cheering, and lots of smiles as our little turtles made their way to the finish line. Every resident received ribbons for participating, and one special resident proudly took home the Bickford Turtle Champion Trophy! It was a wonderful afternoon full of joy, friendly competition, and sweet memories together. A special Thank you to Jim for setting this all up! #BickfordFamily #TurtleRace #MakingMemories #SeniorLivingFun #JoyInEveryDay #bickfordofgi #seniorloving #assistedliving

Petals & Tea was such a beautiful afternoon filled with flowers, laughter, sweet treats, and special moments together. Our residents and families had a wonderful time creating their own bouquets at the Bloom Bar and celebrating the love, beauty, and joy that mothers and mother figures bring into our lives every day. Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, caregivers, and women who nurture others with love. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special. #PetalsAndTea #MothersDayMoments #BloomBar #SeniorLivingActivities #MakingMemories #assistedliving #bickfordofgi

We’re thrilled to introduce the newest member of our leadership team here at Bickford of Grand Island – Justin Wissing, our new Maintenance Coordinator! Justin brings a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all things building-related, and we couldn’t be happier to have him on board. When he’s not keeping our community running smoothly, you’ll likely find him spending time with his kids, hunting or fishing, working on projects around the house, or enjoying his love of motorcycles—a passion he’s even shared with one of our residents! It’s clear Justin is already making a difference, putting smiles on our residents’ faces every day. Welcome, Justin! #Bickfordofgi #Welcome #seniorliving #assistedliving
