Sunshine, smiles, and a little adventure!
Today our residents traded the ordinary for a ride around one of our beautiful local golf courses Jackrabbit Run Golf Course and what a day it was! From winding fairways to scenic views, every turn brought a new story, memory, or conversation.
A special thank you goes out to the wonderful Tour guide SaDonna who welcomed us and shared so much fascinating information about the course, its history, and the game itself. Her kindness, enthusiasm, and knowledge made our outing extra special and gave our residents much more than just a ride, it gave them an experience.
There's something magical about feeling the breeze, exploring somewhere new, and spending time together in the community. Judging by the smiles and laughter, we'd call this day a hole-in-one!

Today we were honored to welcome our local Elks Club for a special Flag Day presentation. Our residents truly enjoyed learning about the rich history, traditions, and meaning behind the American flag. The presentation was both educational and inspiring, and it sparked wonderful conversations and memories among our residents. We are so grateful to the Elks Club for taking the time to share their knowledge and passion with us. Thank you for helping us celebrate our nation's flag and the values it represents. It was a meaningful afternoon that our residents will not soon forget! A helping hand. A kind heart. A simple moment that means so much. When one resident noticed another needed a little assistance, He stepped right in to help. It may seem like a small gesture, but moments like these remind us what the Higher Path is all about. It’s about connection, compassion, and finding purpose and caring for one another, and kindness never grows old. At Bickford, we believe every person still has something valuable to give. Whether it’s a helping hand, a kind word, or a simple, active friendship, these moments enrich our home, and help our residents live happier, healthier, longer. That’s the Higher Path. #HigherPath #BickfordFamily #LiveWithPurpose #KindnessCounts #BickfordSeniorLiving #SeniorLiving #assistedliving #bickfordofgi

Yee-Haw! We rounded up a whole lot of fun today at our Western Theme Day! Our residents kicked off the morning with a chair line dance exercise, tapping boots and moving to their favorite country tunes. We tested our cowboy knowledge with Western trivia, shared plenty of laughs, and enjoyed a delicious Western inspired lunch. One of the sweetest moments of the day came during our Root Beer Float Social. A resident proudly helped prepare and deliver root beer floats to fellow residents, demonstrating the power of purpose, independence, and community. These meaningful moments are what Montessori-inspired living is all about giving everyone the opportunity to contribute, connect, and feel valued. From country music and cowboy memories to sweet treats and smiling faces, today was a rootin'-tootin' good time! #LifeAtBickford #MontessoriMoments #WesternWednesday #MakingMemories #BickfordSeniorLiving #assistedliving #bickfordofgi

Today for National Best Friends Day, our residents spent time creating beautiful patriotic friendship bracelets. What made this activity extra special was seeing many residents make bracelets not only for themselves, but for their friends and neighbors here at Bickford. Each bracelet was thoughtfully designed with its own unique pattern, as residents selected and strung the beads themselves, creating something meaningful from the heart. Friendship has no age limit. The smiles, conversations, and acts of kindness shared around the table were just as beautiful as the bracelets themselves. This activity also embraced Montessori principles by encouraging independence, creativity, purposeful work, fine motor skills, and opportunities to give to others. It was wonderful to watch our residents express themselves while creating gifts filled with friendship and care. “The best accessories aren’t bracelets, they’re the friends who wear them with you. Happy National Best Friends Day! #NationalBestFriendsDay #MontessoriMoments #PurposefulLiving #FriendshipNeverGetsOld #PatrioticFun #bickfordofgi #assistedliving #seniorliving

Higher Path in Communication for Elderly Care Taking the higher path means slowing down, listening with your heart, and showing up with patience and kindness. A simple check-in, a gentle tone, or truly hearing someone can make an older adult feel seen, safe, and valued. When we communicate with compassion, we don’t just care for seniors—we help them feel life again… helping them live happier, healthier, and longer. #higherpath #bickfordofgi #compassion #alf #seniorliving
