Good morning from Bickford Cottage! Today, a resident and I teamed up to give our bookshelf a little refresh! Together, we used a Montessori-inspired approach by matching the colored squares on the books to the matching colors on the shelves. This simple activity gave Stacey an opportunity to be hands-on, independent, and to take an active role in organizing our shared space. A Little Kindness Goes a Long Way! Today, our Bickford Peoria residents enjoyed a wonderful lunch outing at Olive Garden! While enjoying our delicious meals and great company, our server surprised us with some incredibly heartwarming news—another patron had generously paid for all of our meals! We are so grateful for this unexpected act of kindness and generosity. A huge THANK YOU to the kind gentleman who treated our group to lunch! Your thoughtful gesture truly made our day extra special. Our residents and special guests strutted their stuff down the red carpet and showed us their Hollywood style! Thank you to all of our fabulous models who joined in the fun! Yesterday was a full day of fun at Bickford Peoria! Our residents got creative with watercolor paintings, then enjoyed an afternoon of Sparkle and Sip at our soda bar. Another great week at Bickford Peoria! We filled our week with fun, laughter, music, and a little fashion! We enjoyed wonderful musical entertainment by Winston Dunbar, gathered together to watch The Devil Wears Prada 2 in celebration of New York Fashion Week, and took a fun lunch and shopping trip to Tanners Orchard! To top it all off, our BFM, Sue was a lucky winner of Trefzger's Bakery coffee cakes crom radio station 106.9! It was a week filled with great memories and even better company! We’ve had another wonderful week at Bickford Peoria filled with fun, laughter, great food, and plenty of memories! Wednesday was all about our furry friends! Residents enjoyed an “Adopt a Dog” event, sponsored by The Care Team Hospice. Everyone got to pick out their very own stuffed puppy to adopt and enjoyed some delicious puppy chow snacks. We then gathered around our brand-new big-screen TV to watch exciting Westminster Dog Show videos! Thursday brought a delicious lunch outing to The Smoke King Pit BBQ, where residents enjoyed some fantastic food and great company. We wrapped up the day with beautiful music from The Peoria Barbershop Chorus after dinner.
