I'm pretty sure the whole state of Iowa waits in anticipation for the Iowa State Fair to arrive, and it is here, and in honor of this historic event, every August, we at Bickford of Marshalltown created a fair of our own! We had corn shucking on the front porch, a 5 pie tasting contest (residents tried each piece & voted on staffs' best pie), a bus ride to the always wonderful and welcoming Appleberry Farm and to end the evening perfectly, a movie and popcorn!! Betcha can't guess the cutest fair movie ever!!!

Mondays are fun! Exciting day at Bickford of Marshalltown!! We invited the Marshalltown Police Chief to the Branch today and he did not disappoint! Police Chief Christopher Jones came and spoke to our Residents about all kinds of different things, from how his career started and all the titles he's held, to what's going on at the Department (they're hiring!!) to family and other exciting things happening in town! Residents participated with questions and compliments and just had a great time! Bickford of Marshalltown has activities almost all day long for the Residents, HOWEVER, when the morning activity is music, the Residents are ALL EARS!! Our much anticipated musician today was Birdie Young and boy does she know how to classic rock & roll!! I think the photos will 100% speak for themselves!

When it's Bible Study with Cindy, there's always a large gathering here at Bickford! Singing songs and talking about the Bible is just what Cindy does! Faith is super important to our Resodents and she just grabs the Residents attention!! And her message is ALWAYS CLEAR......AMEN!!!!

Chair exercises are a staple around here! With the Fowler position, we stretch our arms and legs, which most definitely helps us with our day! After stretching comes.......Walking Club! We love Walking Club here at Bickford because it keeps us ALL (staff too) healthy and fit. But then you also have kindness. When Residents are kind and help other Residents, it just warms our hearts! She calmed her down with her kind words and gentle touch. Higher Path win, here we come!
