Please note a calendar change for today! We will be rescheduling our fishing trip. The fishing poles were not available for today. We are instead visiting Country Variety in Montour! We will load the bus around 9:45am this morning. Family and friends are more than welcome to attend!

Today was filled with adventure, laughter, sweet treats, and beautiful sights. We loaded up bright and early and headed to Pella to enjoy the last of the tulip blooms. We could not have asked for nicer weather, it was beautiful out. We visited some shops, we got Dutch letters from Vander Ploeg Bakery, and we stopped for a fun lunch at Pizza Ranch! Today was so much fun. Our next outing is this Friday (May 9) at 10am. We will be going fishing! All family, friends and residents are welcome!

On Tuesday we went on a shopping trip to Walmart, had exercise class, attended Bible Study with Chaplain Cindy, and got outside for fresh air and to refill our bird feeders and to see what birds were nearby. It was a beautiful day and lots of laughs and conversation could be heard in the courtyard.

Our Monday was jam-packed! We started off with our exercise and meditation class. To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, we had a Nacho and Margarita bar! Residents got to pick from a plethora of toppings and assemble their nachos however they liked. We had a large group join us for Bingo- we snacked on popcorn and everybody left a winner!

Today we hosted a Cinco de Mayo event with our friends at the Village Cooperative in Marshalltown. The village cooperative of Marshalltown consists of 50 homes in one and two bedroom designs for active adults over 62 years old. This a fun and vibrant community that is strictly Independent living. Bickford of Marshalltown is so proud and honored to have had such a fun filled event with such a lively crowd! Thank you! We are looking forward to our next event! Our Friday was filled with activity! The morning started off with a trip to Theisens-which was a HUGE hit! The afternoon brought a full house for bingo with a well stocked prize cart of our residents favorites!
