Happy Hour is in full swing this afternoon at Bickford of Macomb!! Socialization is essential for older adults in assisted living because it supports both emotional well-being and overall health. Regular interaction with others helps reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation, which are common challenges in later life. Engaging in conversations, group activities, and shared experiences can boost mood, maintain cognitive function, and foster a sense of belonging. These connections not only improve quality of life but also help residents feel valued, supported, and more engaged in their daily routines. #HigherPath #Bickfordofmacomb

Our residents had the sweetest visit from the St. Paul 2nd grade class today. This intergenerational time together was beautifully Montessori-inspired; giving children the chance to practice kindness and communication, while our residents stepped into meaningful mentoring roles. Smiles were shared, stories were told, and hearts were full. We love creating moments where every generation feels valued and connected!

Last week we were blessed with a very talented guest instructor- the granddaughter of one of our wonderful residents! She generously volunteered her time to lead a card-making class. Residents enjoyed choosing their patterns, embellishments and colors to create heartfelt cards to share with loved ones. We love seeing generations come together in our community. Moments like these remind us that assisted living is about more than just care- it's purpose, creativity, and family. A heartfelt thank you to Monica for sharing your talent with us. You made that day extra special for everyone!

Another heartfelt THANK YOU to Megan with Traditions Hospice for spreading kindness by sponsoring Candy Grams for our residents! Partnerships like this mean so much to our community. It's not just about the candy- it's about connection, kindness, and reminding our residents that they are cherished and remembered. We are grateful for your compassion and continued support. #CommunityPartners #SpreadingLove #ValentinesDay
