St. Patrick's Day fun at Bickford of Burlington Our residents got into the St. Patrick's Day spirit by decking themselves out in festive attire before starting the day with some chair exercises. We then got creative with some chalk coloring, drawing our very own lucky clovers. Did you know that a shamrock symbolizes hope, love, and life? And if you find a four-leaf clover, that's considered pure luck! After lunch, we had a blast decorating our very own pots of gold. And of course, what’s St. Patrick's Day without a little green beer? What a wonderful day! After breakfast, our residents enjoyed a scenic bus ride to Mediapolis, on our way back we decided to take old highway 99. It was a beautiful morning to take in the sights. This afternoon, we celebrated National Plant a Flower Day by planting seeds and spreading a little extra beauty. We wrapped up the day by stepping outside for some refreshing afternoon air. Yesterday morning started with a burst of fun as we kicked things off with a little parachute balloon action! The laughter in the room was absolutely contagious. We were also lucky to have Nicole from the Burlington Art Center join us, and together, we created our very own rainbows with shamrocks. This morning, we enjoyed a cozy ladies' coffee time, and with the sun shining brightly today, we couldn't resist stepping outside for some fresh air and a bus ride this afternoon. Our residents are starting their week off just right! During Baking Club on Monday, we made peanut clusters to celebrate on Saturday—National Peanut Cluster day. But that’s not all! On Tuesday, we had a full day of Mardi Gras fun with a Necklace Toss, Interesting facts anbout Mardi Gras & what it’s about. But wait a minute what’s Mardi Gras without a parade? Our BFM’s decorated walkers and wheelchairs for our very own parade, followed by a festive cocktail hour and we decided to have a slice of pound cake to celebrate National Pound Cake Day. #mardigras #havingfun #resident activities

Another fun and active week here at Bickford of Burlington. Our residents are staying happy and engaged with some of their favorite activities! On Wednesday, they had a blast playing pool noodle balloon, and they loved it so much that they've called themselves the 'tube group'—they've requested more sessions, so stay tuned! Thursday was all about relaxation and good company during our Ladies Coffee Time. The ladies enjoyed a delicious pecan danish, a hot cup of coffee (or juice for those who prefer), all served in cute teacups with saucers. We wrapped up the week—and the month—with our monthly Birthday Party! Aaron Lotzo brought the house down with his music and humor, and our residents couldn't get enough! This week is off to a fantastic start for our residents! On Monday afternoon, we enjoyed a lovely bus ride with a special request to drive by the Mississippi River and check if it was still frozen—and it was! We also took a scenic tour around Oquawka where we visited the memorial for Norma Jean the elephant, cruised by the courthouse, and even made a stop to see one of our resident’s sister and brother-in-law. Today, the fun continued with a morning of kitchen goods trivia, along with an afternoon of some exciting rounds of bingo, including an intense game of blackout bingo! What a cozy day indoors for our residents! We were so blessed to receive the most BEAUTIFUL flowers donated by Fareway of Burlington. The colorful roses and unique flower combinations were absolutely stunning! We also had a little taste test—today is National Drink Wine Day, and it was such a nice treat for everyone! A huge THANK YOU to Fareway for their kindness and generosity – we are so grateful! Our residents had such a fun time creating floral arrangements. The arrangements turned out gorgeous, and it’s heartwarming to see the creativity and joy in everyone. Thank you again, Fareway, for bringing a little extra beauty into our day!
