Bickford of Lancaster Assisted Living and Memory Care took a special trip to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium — and it was truly unforgettable! Residents spent the afternoon visiting some of their favorite animals, including lions, elephants, and kangaroos. There were plenty of fun surprises too — like watching the safari animals get spooked by a curious groundhog, and seeing a playful baby monkey swinging, spinning, and showing off all over its enclosure. The weather was perfect, the smiles were nonstop, and the joy was contagious. We celebrated Oktoberfest today at Bickford of Lancaster Assisted Living and Memory Care! Our residents enjoyed a full day of festive fun — starting with crafting paper Lebkuchenherzen, the traditional German gingerbread hearts decorated with sweet messages. Our cooking club rolled up their sleeves to make homemade pretzels and snacks, filling the building with warm, delicious smells. We wrapped up the celebration with lively music, cheerful conversation, and a little beer to toast the occasion. The staff truly make this place wonderful! When I've had concerns or questions, they were addressed in a timely manner and the hearts of the people that serve the residents are really amazing! From the laundry lady, cleaning staff, hair stylist, dining room servers and the care , they all work very hard and handle difficult situations every day! One area that needs addressed more is the emotional needs of the residents. Many are dealing with a lot of fear, anxiety and depression. Many don't like to participate in games and activities so it would be nice to find ways to help those. Thank you for considering this.

Love the staff. Only request would be to get more updates. How is my mom's mood, is she active, etc. I get no feed back. I ask when I am there (and get answers) But when moving her there, was told we would receive monthly updates. Not just what we see.... what you see. Thank you

The staff at Bickford do an amazing job of caring for my aunt even though she may not always be the easiest person to deal with but they do it, and do it well! They are very good about making sure I'm informed of any changes she has or of any supplies she may need! I can rest knowing she's in their hands and is being truly cared for and about! ????

Hi. The staff could make sure Dad gets his podiatrist appt when the doctor is in house. He wanders around and misses the day to get nails trimmed! Needs help. Thanks.

Only complaint was my mother's toilet seat was broke and must not have been noticed because the toilet hadn't been cleaned in quite sometime. Also, her trash hadn't been emptied for awhile. They have since notified me that the toilet seat has been repaired. And house keeping has been done. I am glad it's resolved. I just wish I hadn't been the one to have to say it. The employees that I have communicated with have been absolutely wonderful!
