Valerie is a seasoned senior living professional with over 18 years of progressive experience in the industry. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a consistent ability to assess underperforming communities, implement strategic operational improvements, and develop high-performing leadership teams that drive sustainable organizational success. Her approach to community turnaround is rooted in a commitment to operational excellence, staff development, and the unwavering belief that every senior deserves to live in a community that is well-led, well-staffed, and built on a culture of dignity and care. A native of Virginia, she holds a bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation and a master's degree in public administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, along with a master's Certificate in Project Management from Villanova University. Her academic foundation in administration and project management directly informs her ability to lead complex organizational initiatives and deliver measurable results in challenging environments. Outside of her professional endeavors, she is an enthusiastic Dallas Cowboys supporter, an avid traveler, reader, and writer, and deeply committed to spending quality time with her family — including her dog, “Smokey”, whom she affectionately regards as her second child!

Puppy Love in Action!  Yesterday was full of smiles, laughter, and wagging tails as Old Dominion Humane Society came to visit our community! Our residents had the absolute joy of spending time with these sweet dogs—petting them, playing, and simply soaking in all the unconditional love they bring.  Animal interaction isn’t just fun—it’s incredibly therapeutic.
