Higher Path Update: Increasing Hansa PCP Assignments to Strengthen Resident Health
As part of our Higher Path initiative, one of the most powerful ways we can support resident health is by ensuring individuals are aligned with a consistent, engaged Primary Care Provider (PCP). At Bickford, our preferred PCP partner is Hansa Medical Group, our in‑house physician team who rounds directly in our branches and works hand‑in‑hand with our Health & Wellness staff.
Over the past month, we’ve made meaningful progress—increasing 30.8% in residents receiving care from our in‑house PCP team.
Why This Increase Matters
Assigning residents to Hansa as their primary care provider significantly enhances our ability to deliver proactive, coordinated, and relationship‑based care.
1. Immediate, On‑Site Access to Providers
Hansa physicians round in our communities regularly.
More residents assigned to Hansa means:
Faster response time to concerns
More face‑to‑face interactions
Fewer unnecessary ER transfers
2. Seamless Communication With Our Health & Wellness Team
Unlike outside PCPs, Hansa works directly with our nurses and leadership.
This results in:
Shared understanding of resident history
Real‑time collaboration
Strong follow‑through on care plans
3. Earlier Detection and Intervention
Because Hansa is integrated within our community:
Subtle changes are noticed sooner
Chronic conditions are tracked more closely
Preventive care becomes more consistent
These benefits directly support fall reduction, fewer hospitalizations, and improved day‑to‑day well‑being.
4. Better Continuity and Stability for Residents
For many older adults, continuity is the key to safety.
When residents move to Hansa:
They gain a PCP who knows their environment
Families gain a provider who is easily reachable
Our team gains a partner fully aligned with our care model.
Please reach out to Kelly if you are interested in getting your loved one signed up with Hansa or if you would like to meet Eghe the NP with Hansa before signing up.

Fancy nails all around the community today From bright colors to soft classics, our ladies enjoyed choosing their favorite shades and adding a little sparkle to their day. There’s something so special about sitting together, chatting, laughing, and feeling pampered. Giving opportunity to do each other's or take nail polish off for new. It’s more than just polish it’s confidence, connection, and those feel-good moments that make our community shine

This morning we kicked things off with Sitter-cise, getting our bodies moving, stretching, and smiling together. Salon social with BFM braiding hair for one on one engagement in Mary B’s. Putting on our thinking caps on for Trivia Time lots of laughter, friendly competition, and wonderful stories shared as memories were sparked around the room. And to top it all off, our Outing Tuesday took us to Cracker Barrel. Nothing beats good comfort food, sweet tea, and browsing the country store together. The conversations, fellowship, and joy around the table made it extra special. Days like today remind us that staying active, engaged, and connected makes all the difference. #bickfordseniorliving #JoyfulMoments

Montessori Meaningful Moments are built around their stories. Homemakers folding with purpose. Moms gathering around the table for shared coloring and conversation. Office professionals sorting, organizing, and problem solving through puzzles. We meet each person where their life experiences began because those roles still matter today. #BickfordSeniorLiving #Community #core #servingwithpurpose

Outing Thursday + Morning Sitter-cise made for a full and joyful day! Our friends from Bickford of Greenwood Assisted Living and Montessori Memory Care headed out for lunch at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, enjoying delicious food, great conversation, and the opportunity to choose their favorites right from the menu. There’s something special about sharing a meal together out in the community laughter around the table and memories being made. Earlier in the day, during Morning Sitter-cise, our BFM team members stepped right in to join the movement! It’s beautiful to see our team participating side by side with residents building strength, confidence, and connection. From wellness to outings, it’s all about engagement, teamwork, and making every moment meaningful.

We were so blessed to welcome Linda from the Greenwood Public Library to our Library Club hoating today! This time, we gathered in Mary B’s where Linda read “President Dogs” with both our Mary B’s and Assisted Living friends. The room was filled with listening ears and curiosity buildong conversation as it built conversation later in the day. Moments like these truly connect generations through stories. Today also marked Ash Wednesday our pearl passion here at Bickford of Greenwood Assisted Living and Montessori Memory Care. Our Celebration Committee came together beginning preparations for Easter while spending meaningful rolls together reading aloud. Our newsletter highlighting what's to come and a short story from easter preparation as each member took turns sharing memories from what was read and feed shared back. It was a beautiful reminder of reflection, unity, and the joy of community. So grateful for partnerships, storytelling, and traditions that bring us closer each day. #core #bickfordseniorliving #value
