What a fun-filled week we’ve had at Bickford of Bloomington!  We kicked things off with one of my favorite resident-led activities—Jokers and Pegs with Lori! There’s something extra special about seeing our residents take the lead, share their talents, and bring so much laughter to the room.  We also enjoyed making delicious parfaits in Mary B’s, adding a little sweetness to our day!  And, of course, our weekly Bingo games brought plenty of excitement, smiles, and friendly competition to both sides of the community.  Today, we brought Al’s and Mary B’s residents together for a creative activity making adorable scarecrow faces! It was wonderful seeing everyone visiting, creating, and enjoying time together. From games and treats to creativity and connection, it was another week filled with laughter, friendship, and meaningful moments. What a Week at Bickford of Bloomington! What a fun-filled week we’ve had at Bickford of Bloomington Senior Living! Our residents stayed busy, made memories, shared plenty of laughs, and enjoyed a little something different each day! We kicked things off with our Bickford Scavenger Hunt, searching high and low for Dr. Notebook! Some were easy to find… and some definitely kept us on our toes! We were also thrilled to welcome the Humane Society of McLean County and their adorable guest, Gizmo, as we celebrated National Dog Day! Gizmo brought plenty of smiles, love, and tail wags to our community. Our Garden Club switched things up and went fishing for prizes! There was plenty of fun, friendly competition, and, of course, lots of smiles along the way. Tiffany filled our halls with sweet melodies, giving our residents the chance to sit back, relax, sing along, and enjoy the joy that music brings. And we wrapped it all together with our weekly Card Club, enjoying good conversation, laughter, and a little friendly competition among friends. From games and music to furry friends and time spent together, l’d say our residents had a GREAT week! A Little Rock, A Lot of Meaning! Today at Bickford of Bloomington Senior Living, our residents enjoyed a fun and relaxing afternoon of rock painting!  There was something so peaceful about choosing a rock, picking out the perfect colors, and letting creativity take over. What made this activity extra special was seeing how each individual rock became a reflection of its creator. Some rocks reminded residents of special people, favorite places, beautiful memories, or simply something that brought them joy. Every painted rock had its own little story and special meaning.  It was more than just painting—it was a chance to slow down, connect, reminisce, and create something meaningful. And, of course, there were plenty of smiles and laughter along the way!  Garden Club Fun at Bickford of Bloomington! Our weekly Garden Club gathered together for another wonderful afternoon of creativity and connection! Last week, we made lavender pouches to share with our friends and family.  It was such a sweet way to enjoy the beautiful scent of lavender while creating something special for the people we love. Starting in September, Garden Club will meet once a month, giving us plenty of time to plan more fun, hands-on gardening and nature-inspired projects!  And our butterfly adventure continues!  Last week, we released our beautiful butterflies, only to receive more butterfly eggs shortly afterward! What an incredible time we had at our Family Fun Day at Bickford of Bloomington! ???? We were honored to serve 50 children in our community, providing each of them with a backpack filled with school supplies to help ease the financial burden many families face as they prepare for a new school year. A special thank you goes to our amazing Bread Basket Chef, who prepared an extensive and delicious menu for everyone to enjoy while experiencing the same exceptional dining our residents are blessed to enjoy each day. The love, laughter, and sense of community shared throughout the event were truly unmatched. Seeing families come together, children smiling, and neighbors connecting made this day incredibly special. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event such a success. Garden Club was full of beauty and celebration today at Bickford of Bloomington! Our residents enjoyed a truly special day as we released our beautiful butterflies from their habitat, watching them spread their wings and take flight. It was a wonderful reminder of growth, hope, and the beauty found in every stage of life. The fun continued as everyone created colorful butterfly wreaths to brighten their rooms and proudly wore their butterfly pendants, showing off their creativity and Garden Club spirit. The Red Hats were out on the town today! Our wonderful Red Hats Women's Group from Bickford of Bloomington enjoyed our monthly outing together at Destihl a fantastic local restaurant. It was an afternoon filled with delicious food, laughter, meaningful conversations, and cherished friendships. These outings are a wonderful way for our residents to stay connected with the community while creating joyful memories together. We had so much fun getting the backpacks ready for our Family Fun Day, and we are so excited to celebrate with our community this Saturday, August 8th, from 12 PM to 3 PM! We would love for you, your family, friends, and neighbors to come out and be our guest for an afternoon filled with fun, fellowship, and community connection.
